I had a Cuban sandwich and a beef empanada.
PRICE: Not too bad. About $5 for small, $6.59 for a large Cuban sandwich, but $2 more to add roasted pork on the sandwich. Empanada were $2.49 each.
PORTION: the big sandwich is probably enough for two smaller people. The sandwich had tons of meat! The empanadas were a good size, not tiny. Two would have been enough, if that's all I was eating (I'm a big guy)
SERVICE: fast and friendly.
FLAVOR: sandwich and empanada were about 3.5 stars, but due to price and portion I'm giving it a 4.
I'll definitely be back! -

Nestled in the corner of a strip mall off Ulmerton road is The Cuban Mexican restaurant. I have been here twice because of My Yelp friend reviews and it's like 30 seconds from where I work. My two choices were a Cuban and 3 Mexican tacos.
The Cuban was not totally authentic because they added tomato but it was an amazing cuban. I'm not sure if they made a mistake but it had cuban pork jammed inside and it was good. It had all the flavors i want out of a cuban and they didn't skimp on the meat.(see pic) When lunch was done my belly was full and i was happy. Being a Tampa Native i know my Cuban sandwiches, my dad has been going to Ybor city for Cubans and Deviled crabs his whole life. I have literally grown up on Cubans.
My second visit i got Mexican tacos, because it is the Cuban Mexican restaurant. I have to try both Cuisines!! I went for the trifecta: chicken, steak, and pork. They are double soft tortilla with onions and cilantro, and before i left the gentleman inquired if i'd like hot sauce. Ummm Hell Yes!! It was perfect, not too hot but just spicy enough to super charge the Tacos. All the meats were well seasoned and cooked just the way i like it, Not dried out.
It's a small place, only about 6 four tops and 2 high tops that could seat 6. It also had one outside table. The drink choices are typical mexican sodas with american versions as well. I love the mexican coke, it has real sugar.
If you find your Family craving food from both sides of the Gulf of mexico in one place; Do yourself a favor and stop on by. No passport needed! -

Yummmmm!! After a horrible experience at a neighboring business we came here for lunch for comfort plus we were starving. The good thing for us is we beat the lunch crowd and it got packed quick! I ordered the Cuban sandwich with Cuban roast pork of course and my wife had the meat pies that came with black beans and rice. My sandwich was full of pork, ham and salami and cozily pressed in perfectly toasted Cuban bread. Omg it was so good. My wife really enjoyed her meat pies and is still raving about the dough, "nice and flaky" as she said and the filling of ground beef was seasoned perfectly and "delicious " as she exclaims! We left in a good mood and very full bellies. Two thumbs up! thanks for upping our mood!!!

Being a jersey girl I love a great simple breakfast gives me a 24 hour diner feel and this is my go to spot for a delicious breakfast to go. I usual order an omelette which they give you a tasty side of potatoes and Cuban bread or a breakfast burrito. Service can be slow at times but the food is made to order.
Also on Fridays they have fresh fried fish which is great! It was season just right and the condiments of fresh tomato, onion, mayonnaise and hot sauce worked great together. I am always counting down to Friday to get another delicious fish sandwich. Like seriously you won't be disappointed with the fish.
They also sell stuff potatoes, meat pies, crab rolls and fried pork skins which I haven't tried yet. And of course a mix of Cuban and Mexican food. I like how they alway recognize their regulars, it's really a nice touch.
